Slug and Lettuce
Cocktail tree? Yes please!
At Slug and Lettuce Durham you’re able to enjoy your Pornstar Martini cockail tree in dreamy surroundings. The restaurant is decorated like a beautiful garden, with green plants, pink flowers, lights and flower prints. This is truly somewhere you want to be with your friends, even if it’s to get through Monday or to celebrate weekend.
This is a place to drink, as the food isn’t all that. Slug and Lettuce is a chain, and you’ll find it several places in UK.
Old Tom’s Gin Bar
This place is somewhere to go even if you love gin or not. With so many different gins and tonics, in addition to bartenders with a lot of knowledge, you can’t really go wrong here. The bar is intimate, and you can go inside the bar to look at all the bottles if you’d like.
Ebony Champagne Bar
Up for bubbles? Then this is the place to go. Ebony Champagne Bar offers pages of Champagnes, sparkling wines, Champagne cocktails and regular cocktails. They also have food, and the small finger dishes are perfect to have with your drinks.
Make sure you try these drinks from the menu: Kir Royale, Paris to Manhattan and Spices Pear.
This restaurant has really good food! I don’t even think you can go wrong with this menu, but the duck was amazing and so was the lamb. They also have pan fried calves liver if you want to try something different.
The best thing was that you actually have a little bit of room for desserts after. Try the brownie with pistaccio ice cream or the toffee pudding. Yum!
The Botanist – Newcastle
Do you want to visit the dreamiest restaurant ever? Then you have to go to Newcastle, only 12 minutes by train from Durham. This place… I mean, you can just look at it. With a tree in the middle of the room, over the bar, green plants and flowers everywhere and a big glass dome.
The Botanist has the coolest, most beautiful drinks. I’ve only tasted one, but it was delicious. The food is pretty good too, try the beef salad. Apperantly one of the drinks from the menu changes colors TWICE!? That’s one good-as-hell reason to visit this place.
